Help with Co-ordinates.
There are many co-ordinate formats for determining locations. Most will be accepted but preferred formats are Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (for the UK) or Irish Grid Reference for Ireland and/or decimal Lat/Lon.
Due to the mapping software currently in use, all location formats received will be converted and recorded in the TURTLE database in one of the above formats.
Help in obtaining co-ordinates can be found at Grid Reference Finder for the UK or Irish Grid Reference Finder for Ireland.
To obtain a co-ordinate using these 'Finders', zoom in on the map to the approximate location you need, place the curser where the turtle was stranded/sighted and right click.
A box should appear displaying all the various co-ordinates for the location you have selected. On some computers the information may be displayed in a row below the map. As stated previously, a 6 figure Grid Reference or the decimal latitude longitude for this location would be ideal.
